I’m going to start by saying that this is the very first product I have ever purchased from an infomercial. 🙂 The solution it offered was too compelling to resist. Like many of you, we have a daily struggle to keep our beds made. After a while, I get sick of nagging and either a) do it myself or b) let it stay unmade. I am happy to say that the boys now have their beds made EVERY day before school! So, how did we do it?
This Real Mom received a Zipit Bedding twin set for the purpose of this review. I also purchased another one myself. All opinions and writing are 100% my own.
Zipit Bedding
I first saw Zipit bedding on a TV commercial, and they immediately caught my attention! For those of you who like Shark Tank, they were also featured on the show. As I mentioned above, I constantly struggled with getting the boys to make their bed. While it may seem trivial to some, I think it’s important to make your bed every morning. A freshly made bed is an easy way to make your room look cleaner and more organized! 😉 Plus, I like going to sleep in a bed that’s been made.
Zipits are bedding sets that are crafted much like a sleeping bag. The fitted sheet and comforter are one piece, linked together with a zipper on both sides. The comforter top can be completely removed via the zippers, so it’s reversible. When it comes time to do the laundry, you remove the Zipit bedding all at once in one piece.
What I Love About Zipit Bedding
There are two HUGE selling point for me on the Zipit bedding, I’ll start with the first. My kids never made their beds without grumbling that a) it took too long or b) they didn’t know how. Thankfully Zipit bedding has eliminated both a AND b! To make the bed, all you have to do is literally zip up the sides. It doesn’t get much easier than that. As for b, if you can zip, you can make your bed.
The other benefit is that covers no longer get tossed off in the middle of the night. My seven year-old would come into our room occasionally because he would wake up cold (his covers would be on the floor). I am happy to report that we are no longer receiving night-time visits!
The bedding is great for bunk beds and other areas that are hard to reach when making a bed. I also love that it has a zippered pocket on both sides for kids to stash small items safely. The bedding is soft and holds up well after washing. When it comes time to do laundry, just strip the bed in one piece (fits easily in our washer and dryer)!
There are a number of colors and patterns you can choose from, including glow in the dark options. We went for the simple navy/stripes, mainly because that’s what I chose!
The one drawback with the Zipit bedding is that you only have a fitted sheet and a comforter, so it’s more for cooler weather or if you have air conditioning (we do not). In warmer temps, you would have to unzip the comforter and used a flat sheet or lighter weight blanket. I am hoping that Zipits comes out with a warmer weather version, because we would definitely buy it! 😉
Overall Thoughts on Zipit Bedding
We are very happy with our Zipit bedding, and I am sure they won’t be the last ones we purchase. You can currently purchase them in twin size for $59.98 of full/queen size for $79.98. Maybe they’ll expand the color choices for grown-ups, and I will buy one for our bed! 😉 If you order now, you will also get a zippered pillow case included free with your order. What are you waiting for, stop stressing about unmade beds or chilly kids!
