The finish line of the school year is rapidly approaching, and as usual, it seems like there are so many events to squeeze into such a short amount of time! My now six year-old’s birthday party is this weekend, and that will wrap up birthday season in our house!
I was lying awake in bed the other night (shocking I know!), thinking about how crazy it is that I now have a 6 and 8 year-old. The cliché “It goes by fast!” doesn’t mean much to you before you have kids, but as soon as you do it becomes all too clear. Yes, there are periods that seem to stretch on forever, but when I look back it seems like a blur.
Lately I have tried to stop myself when I start to worry about things that are out of my control (I know that’s almost impossible for most parents!), because I want to savor the time with the boys. They still hug me at school drop off and run to greet me after the day has ended, and I know that a time will come when they will want to be dropped off around the corner. 🙂
So after our birthday party this weekend, we will end the school year with lots of fun and then head off to Vermont for some rest and relaxation! Enough of being sad about time passing too quickly, and time for living it up this summer vacation and making LOTS of memories!
