As a person who is very passionate about organic food being a right, not a privilege, nothing has made me happier than seeing organic items appear on store shelves, especially at places like Walmart. Making organic choices more affordable will help so many families that want to make eating these items a priority. When I shop for items that are organic at Walmart, there are three departments on which I choose to focus:
- Dairy— The two items that I always purchase organic are dairy and meat products. I’m super happy that Stonyfield has been on Walmart shelves for a few years now, so you can grab yogurt and milk at a great price! Both items are things that we go through A LOT of here in our family with three growing boys! YoKids Squeezers are the most popular for school lunches– we freeze them, so they are still nice and cold for lunch time. They make a great snack for the hot summer months too!

- Produce— When I first visited the Walmart Super Center closest to me, I was surprised at the number of organic produce items that were offered. We found bags of organic apples and so many other organic fruits and vegetables. I hopeful that more and more items will be added as time goes on.

- Snack Foods— There are so many different snack options like Annie’s bunny grahams and cheddar bunnies, Cascadian Farms granola bars and so much more that you can stock your pantry with. You will find many of the brands that you see on grocery store shelves at Walmart for a lower price!
- Canned Food and Spices— You can also find items like canned tomatoes, pasta sauce, oils and spices at lower prices at your local Walmart.
Next time you’re out grocery shopping, swing through your local Walmart, and I think you will be very surprised with the number of organic items you will find in the aisles and on the shelves!
