What a beautiful weekend on the Cape! On Friday afternoon, I headed up to the Seacrest to help pass out numbers for the ZOOMA Cape Cod half marathon. There were definitely more people this year! All of the ladies had a beautiful race morning, and I was sad not to be joining in. Two months of relatively little training did not align with half marathon plans.
However, I am psyched that I scored a super cute Brooks running skirt from the Bayside Runner sales rack- $22 at the race expo!! It’s a cute eggplant color and I wore it out for a run Saturday and loved it.
I did run Friday, Saturday and Sunday of this weekend, and I am start to feeling a bit better. I did a run/walk combo as a test on Friday and felt fine, so I did 2 on Saturday and almost 3 on Sunday. Granted, I am going much slower!
It’s been perfect running weather—sunny and in the 50s in the morning. Fall running season is definitely epic here on the Cape, as I’m sure everyone that ran ZOOMA noticed…
Another positive: I feel like my diet is starting to improve a bit. For the first two months I was craving A LOT of salt and junky food. I am trying to be better now about working in some healthier options. I have to snack a lot since I get hangry (and nauseous if I don’t!). I have been loving trail mix as of late.
Another great addition was the La Tortilla Factory’s Whole Wheat Soft Wrap Minis—J took them to lunch with hummus as a change-up from his traditional peanut butter and honey.
