I will preface this post by saying that I ran today at 3:30 p.m. in a skirt and a long sleeve top. No gloves, no hat, no nothing! The weather was CRAZY windy the night before last—gusts up to 60 mph and it poured. True to form, it never snowed on Cape Cod! 😉 The wind tapered off by mid-morning, and we could actually see some sunshine peeking through.
I headed out late afternoon on a 7-miler. While I felt nice and toasty for the first half, when I hit the beach it was a whole different story! I turned around at 4 miles and ran straight into the bone chilling wind. Thank goodness I had on a long sleeve half zip!
I actually took my new Illuminite half zip out for a test drive. I got it as a gift from my dad, and I LOVE it. I am really psyched about all of the reflectivity, and combined with my head lamp, I felt good about my almost dark run.
Yesterday morning the boys and I headed up to join the Wareham YMCA. As sad as I am to be leaving the Kent County YMCA, I am happy to be joining another Y family. James was super psyched about the indoor pool with the spiral slide and the fact that they have an outdoor pool. Another cool perk—an indoor rock climbing wall.
Since it’s a bit further away, I know we will probably not be there quite as often, but I love the new Y! We are off this morning for Philly for the wedding festivities! I can’t wait to get all glammed up and celebrate with my BFF!
Not much is worse than hitting some strong wind in the face for any extended period of time! At least you spent some Of the run in relative comfort. Additionally, it sounds quite scenic, which is far from the case on most of my Midwestern runs!
