Since the hubs had another business trip scheduled for this week, we decided that it would be fun to take the family to Vermont along with him! We headed to Waterbury, Vermont last night and are about to set out for our first full day of Vermont family activities.
It’s no secret that I really heart Vermont. It’s such a beautiful state, and it has such a laid back vibe. I love that there are very few chains—just a lot of independent merchants and general stores. How cool is that?
Today we are headed for a tour of the Ben & Jerry’s factory in Waterbury. My husband spent a winter in Stowe about eight years ago, and every time I would visit I would drive by Ben & Jerry’s. I don’t know why I never found the time to fit in a visit. The kids are very excited to check it out and sample some Ben & Jerry’s flavors. Even though I am no longer eating dairy, I may have to sneak a sample or two.
On another note, I hope that my abs and arms get through today. Yesterday’s TRX workout was brutal! During the last set of triceps exercises, I literally couldn’t complete them because my arms were so fatigued. The fact that the workout was developed by a former Navy SEAL makes even more sense now! I could barely carry my bags into the hotel last night—no, I am not joking.
I think TRX is just what my core needed, and I am excited that I am making it part of my routine. I look forward to seeing the impact of core work on my running. While I plot my return to racing this summer/fall, I am looking for some good race suggestions for July in the Rhode Island/Massachusetts area. Any suggestions?
