So the training update is that there is no training update. 🙁 Since my left big toenail was removed two weeks ago (surgically), it’s taking a while to heal. I had a quick follow-up with the podiatrist this past Monday, and he pushed me to do soaks 2-3 times a day to speed up the healing. I’m super bummed, because this pretty much means that the Cape Cod Half Marathon is out for me this year! Even if I am running then, I don’t want to push it with 13 miles. The last thing I want to do is cause more toenail issues!
It’s so frustrating that just when things were starting to feel good, I have this damn toenail issue! That being said, I am glad that my orthotics will be cast next Monday, and hopefully that will help prevent this problem from recurring!
Even though I’m not running, I am definitely keeping busy with house projects, kids’ activities, and everything else in between! On that note, I would like to share a giveaway of the book A Woman’s Guide to Having it All: Life Lessons to Live by Celia Ward-Wallace and some Visine (because none of us get enough sleep!). I love the theme of this book–“life is not measured by what you have but by who you are.” Here’s a brief description of the book:
Celia Ward-Wallace thought she had the perfect life – until she lost it all. Through her journey back from rock bottom, she realized that a great life is not measured by what you have but by who you are. In this guidebook for all women, she shares the life lessons that have brought her purpose, passion and peace. These universal truths can transform your perspective and create happiness, abundance and gratitude in your life right now!
