I am on a roll lately with the running retail therapy 😉 I guess I am just making up for lost time! My latest purchase is a new GPS watch. I have a Garmin Forerunner 305 which has served me well, but it’s pretty bulky and takes quite a while to find a GPS signal often. I have decided to take the plunge and try the Tom Tom Runner GPS watch.
I first saw this watch at the Falmouth Road Race expo last year, and I was impressed with its smaller size. I have small wrists, and it seemed to fit a lot better on them! There are a number of features I was attracted to in this watch, including its ability to preload satellite data; so you don’t have to wait so long for your signal. There is nothing more annoying than starting a run on a freezing winter day and waiting for your watch to find a signal!
Another thing I really like about the Tom Tom Runner GPS watch is that can sync with a number of running apps including Map My Run,, Daily Mile, Run Keeper, and many others. It can also track your running indoors without the need for a foot pod- WIN! Other cool attributes include a one button operation system and an extra large, easy to read on the run, display. I am looking forward to trying this baby out during tomorrow’s run. I will let everyone know how it fares.
