Summer Fun at Thomas Land USA – Edaville Family Theme Park

FAMILY TRAVEL

Thomas the Tank Engine Edaville Family Theme Park
I received family admission to Edaville Family Theme Park for the purpose of this review.

We head to Thomas Land USA at Edaville Family Theme Park a few times a year since it’s a short, 45-minute drive from where we live on Cape Cod and all 3 boys love to visit! I visited Edaville as a child around the holidays for the Festival of Lights, but now that the park has grown it’s just as much fun year-round. Last month we headed to the park for some summer fun!

About Thomas Land USA at Edaville Family Theme Park

Located in Carver, Massachusetts right along scenic cranberry bogs, this 250-acre family theme park is full of fun for the whole family. You can enjoy a 2-mile train ride around the property, rides, indoor play spaces, food, special events and more!

One of my favorite things about Edaville is that there is plenty of FREE parking and your admission includes unlimited rides! If you are a resident of Massachusetts or Rhode Island, you can receive a $30 ticket rate (saving you up to 23% off per ticket) on 2018 date-specific tickets during the 2018 year!

Cran Central

Cran Central is the first area of the park you will pass through after you enter. Cran Central has plenty of rides including a Ferris wheel and the Edaville Excursion on a diesel-powered train around the property. You will also find an indoor play space, ball crawl, and arcade, as well as a dining area.

Dino Land

If your children love dinosaurs, make sure you check out Dino Land. It’s the only Dino Land in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and it’s full of animatronic dinosaurs that roar! You and your kids can stop at each dinosaur and listen to a recording from a paleontologist. It’s a fun path that winds around in a circle, complete with mist and music!

Thomas Land USA

If you have a child who loves Thomas, you definitely don’t want to miss Thomas Land USA, which opened in 2015. There are 11 rides in this area, as well as an indoor play space, dining and a special interactive show with Thomas and friends. If you’re looking for special Thomas-themed gifts, don’t miss the gift shop as soon as you enter Thomas Land.

I would say we usually spend half of our visit in Thomas Land USA and it’s nearly impossible to drag my 4-year-old away from the rides! This section of the park is also perfect for pre-schoolers, as there are a number of rides they can do on their own. Since my youngest has two older brothers, he was SO excited to be able to ride on his own in Thomas Land USA!

Thomas & Friends™ Breakfast experience

This summer Edaville Family Theme Park will be offering the first ever exclusive Thomas & Friends™ Breakfast experience on August 25, 2018 and September 1 from 9AM-10AM in Thomas Land. This event boasts a kid-friendly interactive breakfast buffet at Tidmouth sheds in Thomas Land before the park opens with Thomas & Friends™ featuring a one of a kind special photo opportunity with Sir Topham Hatt & Thomas the Tank Engine™.

Special Events

There are a number of special events that take place throughout the year at Edaville including holiday-themed events and special character days. We always make a point to visit during the Festival of Lights, and we are super excited about the Not So Spooky Halloween days where kids can visit Edaville in costume and trick or treat at all of the rides!

Tips for Your Edaville Visit and What to Bring

There are not a ton of shaded areas in Edaville, so make sure you have sunscreen and a hat and dress in cooler clothes. This is one of the main reasons we like to get there right as the park opens at 10 a.m. It’s cooler and you don’t have to wait in line for any of the rides! I would also suggest a stroller for your toddler since the park covers a fairly large area.

Have you visited Edaville Family Theme Park? What are your favorite rides/attractions?
