I am super psyched to be trying out the Fresh 20—a great meal-planning service that provides you with 5 dinners for the week using 20 ingredients for all 5 (and some pantry ingredients).
If you are like me, you are sick of buying food and then forgetting to use it in a meal. I can’t tell you how many things I have had to throw out! Now, I don’t feel like I’m wasting money any more!
So, how does it work? Each Friday the following week’s meal plan will go up on the site. The plan will provide you with a prep ahead schedule, grocery shopping list, recipes, and all of the nutritional information for the meals you will be preparing.
You can choose from classic, vegetarian, or gluten-free. All of the meals use fresh, unprocessed ingredients and focus on sweeteners like honey and maple syrup, as opposed to refined sugar.
The prep for the meals takes about 1 hour a week and each dinner takes 30 minutes or less to prepare (HUGE selling point for me!). So, for about 16 cents a day, you can have your week day meals planned for the month!
If you are not sure about the subscription, you can check out the Fresh 20 Cookbook for some great family meal inspiration. The meals follow the same principles above and contains 85 gluten-free, 60 vegetarian, ad 70 dairy-free recipes.
So far the family has had rave reviews for the Fresh 20 meals I have prepared (see one of our meals in my Instagram widget to the right of this post). My kids have tried many of the things I never thought they would! If you would like to learn more about the Fresh 20 and their #getfresh campaign to help start healthy eating habits for the school year, follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. Also be sure to check out the #getfresh contest going on right now!
30 Something Mother Runner received an annual subscription to the Fresh 20 and a copy of the Fresh 20 cookbook in exchange for sharing the above information. All opinions are 100% my own.
