I’m pretty proud of myself that I actually made all of our valentines this year. I am always in awe of the crafty things that people come up with, sinceย I usually can’t get my sh$t together to get them done! ๐ At the last minute I find myself running to the drug store or dollar store for a box of cards (definitely easier in my book, butย I just wanted to try and be crafty for once!).

Ever since I got my sweet little (big) Christmas present, I am finding every possible opportunity to get my craft on–including this Valentine’s Day. Using the Cricut Explore is actually super easy–everyone will be impressed with the little paper treats you produce (but it will be our secret that it really didn’t take that long and that you didn’t actually write the messages in your own handwriting!).
You simply set up your project in the design space, put the paper on the mat, feed it into the machine, and voila–you’re done! You can use predesigned projects or choose images to insert (either your own or ones in the Cricut library). I love that you can insert a marker, choose your font, and the machine will actually write for you! My handwriting is horrible, so I think this will be a big WIN in our home. At least people will be able to read my writing!
The two older boys picked out the designs and colors they wanted for their valentines – okay I sort of convinced the first grader to put some pink in there. ๐ For his, we are also adding the little gift certificates for a cone that you can buy from Friendly’s (the money goes to Easter Seals). I didn’t want to send candy in with the valentines, so this way they still get a sweet treat– to save for another day!
I still have some other valentines to do for family– they will probably get done Thursday night! ๐ If you have a Cricut Explore, here are the projects/images I used for our teacher gifts and valentines.
