Last month I attended the ShiftCon conference for the first time, and I know it won’t be the last time! I’m already planning my trip to California for the 2017 conference. 🙂 The conference was held in New Orleans, at the Hilton Riverside (about a 10 minute walk to the French Quarter).
It was a whirlwind trip for me, since I scored a great deal on a direct flight from Boston to New Orleans. The catch? I didn’t get in until about 11 p.m. New Orleans time (or about midnight on my body!). I grabbed a cab to the hotel and was up for yoga the next morning at 6:30 a.m. Thankfully my roommate Ashley (from Big Flavors from a Tiny Kitchen) was going too or I might have hit the snooze button!
The conference days were jam-packed with helpful workshops, and some of my favorite speakers/panelists were Robyn O’Brien, Ron Finley (you will see a post on his foundation coming up soon!) and J.P. Sears. We did manage to squeeze in some fun too, with a ghost tour in the French Quarter, a quick trip to Pat O’Brien’s and CafĂ© du Monde! On Saturday night, Ashley and I grabbed dinner at Meril (one of Chef Emeril Lagasse’s restaurants)– where we had some UNBELIEVABLE small plates!

I tried not to stay out too late on Saturday night and headed home after a quick dessert at Cochon Butcher. I left the hotel at 5:00 a.m. and was back on Cape Cod in the early afternoon! What a whirlwind of learning, fun and delicious food!
I had so much fun hanging with blogger friends, new and old, and as usual, I wish I could have spent more time there! It was a wonderful experience meeting with like-minded individuals and brands (did I mention how much fun the expo was?!). I came home with a boat load of swag from conference sponsors, and I’ve fallen in love with many of the brands like Fresh Wave, California Almonds, Boiron and many more! I’m looking forward to working with several of them over the coming  year. I’d also like to give a HUGE thank you to Stonyfield for sponsoring my ticket to the conference!
Have you been to ShiftCon yet?
