I am so happy to say that I am en route to San Diego today. It should be in the 60s when I arrive in the early evening. I’ll take it! This is a much-needed vacation and some sister bonding time.
I am actually writing right now on my layover at the Newark International Airport—great for people watching!
I can’t wait to catch up with my sister this weekend and visit all of the familiar places I left behind almost 10 years ago! We don’t have too much on the schedule except for a hike at Black’s and some nice dinners. There may or may not be a spontaneous trip to Mexico!

There will also be runs on my old, yet still familiar running routes. I used to love running to along Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach. San Diego really has perfect running weather almost every day—sunny and in the 60s.
As much as I am so excited to be escaping for this long weekend, it was hard leaving the boys this morning. My older son was up when I left, and he kept crying and begging me not to leave.
It was heart-wrenching when he kept trying to run out the front door in his pajamas crying hysterically.
Aside from the morning drama, it will be very nice to have five days completely to myself! I don’t what I’m going to do! I feel like after you have kids you wonder what the heck you ever did with all the free time you used to have!
Off to the boarding area for my flight to San Diego—look for more posts from the Pacific this weekend!
