We had an outdoors weekend, and it felt great! Like most other runners from New England, I can’t say how happy I am to be running outside again! 🙂 On the weekends, we like to pick at least one active thing to do together outside. This weekend we went to Beebe Woods for running and walking.

My oldest son, almost 7 years old, LOVED running the trails with me this past weekend (my mini me!)! It makes me so happy to see the pure joy he gets from running– especially in the woods! We take walk breaks when needed and just try to enjoy the scenery. I really hope he always loves running this much. I know my days of out running him are numbered–pretty soon he will be able to kick my butt! 😉
It’s been so much fun taking the pressure off my running by not wearing a watch or tracking runs via apps. Every run is fun for me, and I’ve been enjoying my mid-morning stroller runs with William. He loves the fresh air and always passes out by the end of the run!

It’s been good for indulging my inner bird nerd too. Osprey constantly circle above while we run, and yesterday we saw one swoop down and dive into the salt pond for a fish–it was SO COOL! There have been a ton of red-winged blackbirds singing and a lot of different types of ducks. Nerd alert, nerd alert…
In other news, I’m headed to San Diego tonight to visit my sister and brother-in-law. I cannot WAIT to meet my new niece!! I plan on kicking back, baby snuggling (with William too, since he’s coming!), enjoying warmth and sun, and taking some easy runs. The perfect getaway if you ask me!
If you don’t hear from me for a few weeks, you know where to find me. Just kidding (well, sort of!). 😉 I’ll have a marg for all of my fellow mother runners out there…
