I freely confess that I love me some chocolate. However, I am also a big fan of healthier non-candy treats for the kids’ valentines. They have enough energy as it is, so when you add some caffeine and sugar into the mix, you can’t be sure what you’re going to get!
I think it’s also fun to make non-chocolate and healthful fruit treats shine. I’m definitely NOT opposed to chocolate/candy kids’ valentines. However, there’s no harm in balancing it out with some healthier alternatives.
You can pair them with clever valentine sayings and cute packaging, and they will often be more popular than the candy packet! I logged some time on Pinterest last week, and I found some super cute non-candy valentines treats!
Kids’ Valentine Ideas
Watermelon Shapes
Small heart cookie cutters can make some great looking, healthy fruit treats!
Squeezable Pouches
Squeezies are always a big hit in our house, and I LOVE these valentines that feature them!
Individual Applesauce Cups
I live in New England, so they had me at “awesome” with this valentine! 🙂
Cuties
My middle son is pretty much obsessed with Cuties, so these would be perfect.
Popcorn
I would opt for an organic (to make sure it’s non-GMO) popcorn option here. You could make your own popcorn (we like Nature’s Promise from Stop and Shop) or buy individual bags with the cute little tags.
