I always envied my friends and family that had beautiful, unblemished skin. Unfortunately, it’s not what I was blessed with and it has continued to give me issues into adulthood. Anyone with me?! Because of this, I’m always on the lookout for great skin products that will keep my combination skin in check without drying it out too much. A few weeks ago, I received a beautiful collection of products from Nubian Heritage. I tore into the package and started using the products immediately. So far my favorites are the African Black Soap (since it’s formulated for blemish-prone skin) and the Raw Shea Butter Lotion for my legs that tend to get dry.
What is African Black Soap?
My favorite product in the selection I received is the African Black Soap. As I mentioned above, I’ve always had issues with my combination skin so I was excited to try it out. The African Black Soap body wash is a combination cleanser and exfoliator made with dead sea salt, natural jojoba beads, oats, aloe, shea butter and cacao pod ash. It’s both detoxifying AND balancing.

I use the body wash in the shower at night and the bar soap for washing my face in the morning. It leaves my skin feeling clean, but not dried out. I have to say that it’s definitely minimized breakouts this summer and I’m REALLY happy with the way my skin is looking lately! I also use and love the Raw Shea Butter Body Lotion— especially to take care of my skin after spending time on the beach. It’s hydrating and soothing and it feels good to pamper myself at the end of the day!
