Night Running, Daylight Savings, and a Big Announcement

Uncategorized

As happy as I was to gain another hour of sleep yesterday morning, I was more unhappy to lose daylight. Sad smile Short days make me feel like I want to hibernate!

Luckily for me the hubs picked up a new headlamp for me at REI on Saturday. I can’t wait to test it out! I actually like running at night a lot (provided I am in a safe place!). It’s a cool feeling to have all of your senses heightened—it makes you feel more present in your run, kind of like when you are trail running.

I am going to have to get used to running in the dark (early morning or evening) because in the spring I will no longer have the YMCA for babysitting while I run. We are moving back to Falmouth! Although we love Providence and Rhode Island, the time is right to move to an area where we can have a yard for the boys and a great school system.

My mother is looking to down-size and is building an in-law onto the house I grew up in. We will take over the house. It’s really a win-win situation for everyone. I am very excited to move back to the Cape. It’s such a great place for families, and my 4-year old will get to go to the same elementary school I went to!

I enjoyed a nice fall long run there yesterday, from North Falmouth to my soon-to-be house! It was a little chilly, but gorgeous. I did 9.5 miles at 8:46 pace. Glad that some of the trees still had their beautiful leaves after Sandy!
