I’m SUPER pumped for Stonyfield’s newest product– whole milk smoothies! We are an organic whole-milk drinking family, which may surprise some of you. The main reason I drink organic whole milk and give it to my kids is that it’s a good source of omega-3 called ALA, and it helps to balance out the abundance of omega-6s in the body. We also like the taste better.
“But what about the added fat and calories?” is a common question I get. My answer is that we eat a very healthy diet and don’t overdo it with milk, so everything is pretty balanced. I have absolutely no concerns about the fact that my children drink whole milk, and I will continue to give it to them!
So that’s why I’m so excited about the Stonyfield Whole Milk Smoothies! As soon as the boys discovered them, they couldn’t stop asking for them! I had to hide some of them, so I could take a picture of them for the blog! 🙂 They have been asking for them in their school lunch or as part of breakfast on the go!
For the nutritional breakdown, each whole milk smoothie has 160 calories, 7 grams of fat, 6 grams of protein and 15 grams of sugar. Each serving also provides 20% of RDA for calcium and 20% of RDA for vitamin D. I love that it’s a quick and easy way to get them some protein on the run!
The next time you’re in the dairy aisle at your grocery store, pick up some whole milk smoothies for an easy school morning breakfast, lunch add-on or after school snack!
Such and easy on the go snack! Stonyfield Smoothies rock! #StonyfieldBlogger
