Halloween is hands down my favorite holiday of the year. I just can’t get enough of it. This afternoon the boys and I made sugar cookies in Halloween shapes and decorated them. We still had some left over supplies from our Halloween pretzel treats, so there was no shortage of sprinkles, sugar decorations, and icing!
After making treats, we did some crafts. My four-year old always asks about the supplies I buy for the Spanish classes I teach. I feel bad that I come home from Michael’s with fun craft supplies and he doesn’t get to use them. Today, that changed!
I did a project similar to the one I taught in class today, and James had so much fun! It’s really simple (I use it for teaching my name is _____ in Spanish). Since younger children can sometimes get embarrassed when you ask them a question in front of others,
I have my students create their “faces” on a paper plate. We decorate the faces and then staple on a craft stick, so they can hold it up in front of their face. It works like a charm! The boys had a great time doing it, and it kept them busy during cookie-making clean up.
