An easy way to add some seasonal decoration to your house is to make a festive wreath for your front door. Since your front door is the first thing many people see when they arrive at your home, why not greet them with a fun holiday wreath?
Like most other parents, I don’t have a lot of time to get crafty. While I love to do so, it’s not always possible with busy family life. That’s why I love this Easter wreath–it literally took me less than 15 minutes to make!
Easter Wreath Supplies
If you would like to make one for your door, here’s what you will need:
- 1 grapevine wreath with a basket bottom (I got mine at Michaels–it was on sale for $10.79!)
- 1-2 bags of decorative Easter eggs. I got mine at Michael’s as well, but you could use plastic ones if you like)
- Easy Tack spray adhesive
- Decorative ribbon (have fun with Easter pastels and prints)
- Floral wire for securing your wreath (if you don’t have a wreath hook).
- Sharp craft scissors for cutting ribbon and floral wire.
How to Assemble Your Easter Wreath
Start by laying out your decorative Easter eggs and spray them with a light coating for Easy Tack. This will help them stay put when you place them in the basket of the wreath.
Carefully arrange the eggs in the bottom basket of the wreath. I bought two packages of eggs, so I could mix some brighter colors with some Easter pastels.
When you are finished arranging the eggs, you will need to tie a decorative bow at the top of the wreath for a finishing touch. The ribbon helps tie all the colors together and gives it a finished look.
Slide your ribbon underneath one of the grapevines and adjust it to the desired length. Cut then ends of your ribbon on a diagonal to prevent fraying.
When it’s time to hang your wreath, you can use a wreath hook or use the floral wire to affix it to a door knocker, like I did with mine. This wreath is not designed to be exposed to the elements, so I recommend hanging it where you have a storm door to protect it from the wind and weather.
You could also hang it on a wall or on an interior door to add some Easter decor to any room. Wherever you decided to place it, it will bring some fun and bright Easter color to your room or home!
