I think the snow is beautiful, but I am kind of over it right about now. I am also over the high winds that we keep getting that make it feel so much colder!
This week I am going to head to the gym for some cross-training. Adding miles again is causing an old injury in my right foot (strained ligaments) and my left hip flexor to get cranky. Maybe the crummy weather will make it a little easier to get back in the gym.
I am starting to think that maybe holding running to 3 times a week might be the key to keeping injuries at bay. I wish I was one of those people who could run insane mileage and stay healthy and happy!
Instead I am going to add in some biking and elliptical and also resolve one more time to add in some strength training to help keep my foundation strong. Here’s to hoping that the reduced mileage doesn’t turn me into a crazier crazy person!

On the home front, we had a successful weekend with the boys’ room renovation. Over the last week and a half, I removed all of the old wallpaper. Yesterday we washed off all of the walls and coated them with a sealer.
Next up will be doing the skim coat, followed by some fresh paint! I can’t wait to see what the room looks like when it’s all put together. I am thinking of posting some before and in-progress pictures! Here’s a before picture—I will take some in-progress ones this week!
How are you staying sane in all of this snow and wind?
I am SOOOO tired of the snow and wind. I just finished 18 miles on Saturday, and I almost cried because my fingers were so cold. I’m nursing a very sore (something) right now. I’m thinking maybe ITband. Trying to ice, rest, stretch and foam roll. My first marathon is less than 7 weeks away.
Awww, hope your IT band stops being cranky soon! They are SO stubborn!! 🙁
