I think it’s pretty funny that I swore I would never drive a minivan when I met my husband–famous last words! We just had our 8th wedding anniversary, and we are on our second Toyota minivan. Oh, how quickly things change! 😉 My now six-year old had his first year of soccer last year, and this year his four-year old brother is joining him. No long runs on Saturday morning, because I am officially a soccer mom. Collin is first up from 9-10, and James plays at either 12:00 p.m. or 1:30 p.m.
After James’s soccer game is his running club at 3:30. Phew–I think a cocktail will be in order for making it through sports practices on Saturday! I think it looks like long runs might be on Sundays for the bulk of the fall. This weekend I am going to do an 8-mile long run instead of the planned 12 miles, since I will be running 13.1 (instead of the 8 miles on the schedule) the following weekend for the ZOOMA Cape Cod half marathon. I’m feeling good about the switch, and I think it will work out even better for race day.
I recently received my Gore Running Wear for training and racing, and I have already tested out a few of the pieces. I can’t wait to share them with you because they are SO comfy and perfect for running! I am loving the colors I chose and feeling confident about the outfit I chose for race day in Philly (I will share it in a later post!). I am still shocked at how lightweight and breathable the pieces are!
Other than sports and running this weekend, we are going to try to take it easy. We will be at weddings for the next two weekends and having company, so I think the down time is going to be crucial. Our first wedding is at Interlaken in Connecticut and the second is in Saratoga Springs. I will need to map out a long run in Saratoga Springs, so if you live in the area, chime in and let me know about some good routes!
