It’s sort of crazy, but I’ve entered the workforce again, albeit on a part-time basis. A job sort of fell into my lap through a friend, and it’s a perfect match with my skill set and what I like to do, so I’m super excited! While it’s been great getting out of the house again, it’s been a bit of an adjustment on the home front. Challenges have included making sure I have a work wardrobe again, planning meals, grocery shopping and schlepping the kids around.
I haven’t been working since the birth of my oldest (who is now 9), so I’m learning the ropes of managing life with kids and work. I know there are so many of you who have been doing this for a lot longer (and full-time) and my hat’s off to you– it can be hard keeping all of the juggling balls in the air!
Part-time work will be a great fit though, and hopefully something I can make into full-time when my youngest enters elementary school. I enjoy being home now, but I definitely want to have a career when they are out of the house for most of the day. Snagging a position in my hometown will help me stay close to home and accessible if needed. For those of you that live on the Cape, you know how challenging it can be to find work in your industry and stay local. 🙂
So the long and short of it is that I will still be blogging it up, but I will also have my hand in a new venture! As one of my friends termed it, I’m “stitching it together!”
