I Am Finally Wise…

Uncategorized

I find it oddly amusing that at the ripe old age of almost 35 (minus about two weeks- and yes, I just revealed my true 30-something status!), my one wisdom tooth has to decided to make an appearance.

I was wondering about the mild, dull jaw pain I had been feeling the past few weeks. After a light bulb moment last night, I reached into the back of my mouth and actually felt the outline of the little sucker!

I guess I shouldn’t complain, since I only need to have one wisdom tooth removed. I opted for the general anesthesia since I have had Novocain before for fillings, and have always had to keep asking for more. I think for this one, I would rather not be aware of any of it!

A quick trip to the dentist and oral surgeon yesterday afternoon, with the two boys I might add, resulted in a schedule removal of the offender this morning. I couldn’t be prouder of the boys (almost four and almost two), the were so patient and well-behaved during the whole ordeal. I guess the stickers, prizes at the dentist, and cinnamon roll bribery might have also played a small role…

So, by the time you read this, I will probably be under anesthesia and minus one wisdom tooth. The oral surgeon informed me that the anesthesia they use now doesn’t make you feel crummy for the rest of the day. We’ll see—bring on the drugs! Winking smile

    Only one?! Lucky girl!

I hated that procedure – all 4 removed when I was 16. It was NOT fun!

I know, I am VERY lucky! My hubby had to have all four out a couple of years ago, and I felt so bad! He looked like a chipmunk for a while.. 😉

Hope it goes well – and yes, be thankful it’s only one. I had all 4 out when I was in my late 20s, and it was no fun at all. Wishing you a speedy and easy recovery!

Yikes, so glad I didn’t have 4! The drugs they give you for conscious sedation are awesome–no memory of the event and no crappy feeling afterwards. Win! 🙂

Oh girl, I swear you are going through more pain recently than I would want. My shins have been killing me and I thought I felt something wrong with my tooth yesterday, and I pretty much yelled at my mouth that it wasn’t allowed to make me go to the dentist right now. Only one ailment at a time please!

I know, huh? Hope you don’t have any tooth-related ailments on the horizon. Thankfully, I only had one wisdom tooth! It’s really not that bad at all today. Hope Boston training is going well! 🙂
