Today was a day of serious humidity here on good Old Cape Cod (and a lot of Southern New England I’ve been told). I left on my little three mile jaunt around 11:30 and it was HUMID.
It was also seriously windy along the water. Thank GOD the wind was at my back on the way home or I would have been struggling big time. I managed to pull out an average of 7:42 pace, so I felt good about that for an easyish run.
I think that cutting back on my miles and letting my body heal itself has really helped. I have been feeling good on my shorter jaunts. I know that I am going to have to work on my weekly long runs, but I am feeling more confident that my speed hasn’t disappeared completely!
I was also very excited that I caught both the mother and father osprey watching over their nest today (see pic). It’s fun to monitor their nest on an almost daily basis. Sometimes they are there and sometimes not. Occasionally, you will see them coming with fish for the chicks.
