It’s that time of year again! Time make to shop for the runner on your holiday shopping list (or make your own wish list!). Here is my gift guide for runners:
Rechargeable Knuckle Lights: I have a pair of these and love them! I’m not much of a head lamp person, since they start to annoy me after a while. Knuckle Lights are perfect because they are worn comfortably on your hands, and you can easily direct the light as needed. You can use the code “ykaf2244” for 10% off the rechargeable or battery-operated lights.
Untapped Maple Syrup Fuel Packets: Rather than eating GU on the long run, why not take all natural maple syrup? Love these little Vermont maple syrup packets. They are also 100% USDA organic!
Flip Belt:It’s always helpful to have an easy place to stash your keys, phone, money and ID, etc. The Flip Belt does all of these AND it’s comfortable to wear on the run. Since it’s wider, there’s extra room for you larger smart phone and other items. I also like that it has a reflective logo for added safety.
Run Fast. Eat Slow: Nourishing Recipes for Athletes:This cookbook from elite U.S. runner and foodie Shalane Flanagan and Elyse Kopecky is chock full of whole-food recipes to keep your favorite runner fueled. But don’t take my word for it, here’s what Joan Benoit Samuelson has to say:
“Feeding my cravings with healthy food has long been my recipe for running longevity. Run Fast Eat Slow contains sound advice and delicious and nutritious recipes―finally a true runner’s kitchen companion.” ― Joan Benoit Samuelson, first-ever women’s Olympic marathon champion
Milestone Pod: I had the opportunity to try out the Milestone Pod a few months ago, and it’s a great tracker for a great price. You can connect it to your smart phone (iOS and Android) to track the number of miles you have run in your shoes, distance, time, pace, cadence, etc. At only $24.95, I think it’s offered at a great price point!
