Summer is right around the corner here on Cape Cod, and it has me dreaming of my days at the beach with my toes in the sand. We love to pack our bags with lunch and plenty of healthy snacks and head to the beach in the morning to get a prime seat and enjoy the quiet before the crowds set arrive. Since I have 3 very active boys, we snack A LOT.
If you’ve hung around this blog long enough, you know that I am passionate about choosing real food and organic options whenever possible. While dairy, meat, and produce are often top of mind, it’s important not to forget many of the other foods our families eat daily including snack foods. In a perfect world, I could make all of our food from scratch, but we all know how that works…
Life gets in the way and when you’re busy enjoying summer fun, it’s nice to have options that are quick and easy (without sacrificing healthy eating priorities) and are available at our local Giant and Stop & Shop retailers!
There are many options for snack and convenience foods that don’t contain artificial colors, flavors, and GMOs and are always a hit with the kids (and the grownups!). Some of our favorite snack items that we like to stash in our beach/pool bag or cooler:

- Yogurt Parfaits with whole milk greek yogurt, fruit, and granola
