The Run Less, Run Faster plan is still working out perfectly with my half marathon training and schedule. I am really enjoying the 3-day workout week. With the three boys, it’s a lot easier to work in three days of training, as opposed to 5! On Saturday, I had a beautiful long run on my favorite running route- the Shining Sea Bikeway. I was reminded for the one millionth time why I love fall on the Cape, and why it’s my absolute favorite time of the year to run!
I didn’t head out for my long run until 2 in the afternoon (my husband is out of town, so I had to hire a babysitter). For the first time, it wasn’t too hot to run at that time! There was a refreshing breeze all along the beach and some nice shade on other sections of the bike path. I decided to fuel my long run with GU. I used the Cytomax Energy chews for my last few long runs, but they just weren’t agreeing with my stomach. On Saturday, I went back to the GU with no issues = happy tummy. I went to Marathon Sports to stock up and snagged some Salted Caramel that I’m going to try next weekend! I know I need to branch out from my typical chocolate and vanilla, but I’m not really into the fruit flavors!
Next week’s long run will be 12 miles and the weekend after that is ZOOMA Cape Cod, which I will be running with Nancy. It will be a training run for me–sub 2 but not a PR attempt (that’s for Philly!).
On the home front, we are settling back into our school routine, and I finally feel like I have the time to get some work done, finish projects, and run errands. William and I have been getting a lot of quality time together checking things off our list!
