I am super excited to share that I will be traveling to the Gore-Tex Philadelphia Marathon in the end of November to be part of Team Gore Running Wear! Gore-Tex is the lead sponsor of the Philadelphia Marathon, and I will be running the half marathon there on November 23. I have heard so many wonderful things about both the full and half marathons, so I am very pumped to check them out first hand. Over the course of my training, I will also get to share some of the cool new Gore Running Wear I will be wearing!
As I wrote a little while ago, I will be using the Runner’s World’s Run Less, Run Faster plan to train for this half. On Monday I did my first workout of the training week–my speed workout. It’s been 3 months since William was born, and I think my legs are finally starting to feel some sense of speed returning! 🙂
I did a 10 minute warm up, followed by 12- 400s at 7:53 pace with a 90 second rest in between. My legs felt really tired afterwards—in a good way! They were also sore yesterday! Tonight’s workout is a 2 mile warm up with 3 miles at tempo pace and a 1 mile cool down. It will be my first tempo postpartum. I actually love tempo runs, so I’m kind of excited (total runnerd!).
In other news, I still can’t believe that it’s already been 3 months since William’s birth. I have always said that each year you get older, time goes by faster. I think the same thing applies for your children. By the third one, time is flying by! I guess you are just so busy with every thing else going on in life with your other kids. Every once in a while, I have to remind myself to stop and cherish these fleeting moments with my chubby little infant! 🙂
