Great Halloween Treats Made with Pretzels!

FAMILY TRAVEL, PARENTING

This past weekend the boys and I got into the Halloween spirit—we picked pumpkins at Bourne Farm on Saturday and then made some fabulous Halloween treats with Snyders of Hanover pretzels and lots of cake decorating goodies.

We heart pretzels in a major way in the Morrison household, so it was only natural that we make some tasty Halloween treats with them. Snyder’s sent us a huge box filled with all different types of pretzels, sprinkles, fondant, and icing. We had to get a little creative since the boys are younger, and therefore have a more limited skill set with decorating with icing!

We started off rolling some pretzel rods in melted butterscotch and then rolling them in Halloween sprinkles. I then decided to use the fondant and craft a little spider and a bat with fondant and some pretzel squares and sticks (see pictures). There were endless possibilities when it comes to making creations with pretzels, cake decorating supplies, chocolate and fondant.

I wanted to pick up some large marshmallows to stick on the pretzel rods and fashion into ghosts, but our weekend was so jam packed, I didn’t quite make it there! If you would like to win your own Halloween pretzel treat-making kit, enter in the Rafflecopter widget below:

We squeezed in some fall fun at Bourne Farm, picking pumpkins, making crafts, riding in kayaks, and going on a hay ride. The boys even had their first caramel apples. It was a beautiful, warm, and sunny fall day!

I had a great negative split 8-miler on Saturday evening and then on Sunday my mother and I went furniture shopping and to some antique stores. I love antiquing—there are so many treasures to be found. Smile

How was your Columbus Day Weekend?

Snyder’s of Hanover sent 30 Something Mother Runner a box of treat making supplies for my creative use and one to share with a lucky reader!

I hate to admit it, but I do enjoy candy corn (even though it hurts my teeth).

Really cute ideas! I’ll have to try some for the grandchildren. So much better than candy bars.

My all time favorite candy is Butterfinger. That’s why I try not to buy them for Halloween. I would eat them all before the Trick Or Treaters arrived!
