Starting a new fitness regimen can seem overwhelming and people will often come up with excuses as to why they can’t be successful. It may be lack of time, work hours, or even self-confidence. The good thing is that lack of funds doesn’t have to be an excuse for getting outside and getting active.
You don’t have to break the bank to improve your diet, start working out and look great while doing it! If you make the commitment to getting fit, but money is tight, head over to Walmart to get stocked up on nutritional products, cute workout gear and even a new bike!
Look Great (AND feel comfortable) for Less with Avia Activewear
Have you checked out the Avia activewear at Walmart lately? I visited my local Walmart Supercenter and was so impressed by the variety of workout gear I found. I picked up this SUPER cute and comfy pair of leggings and this top for under $20 combined! In fact, I loved them so much that I wore them for the whole day– perfect for those of us who need to multi-task and jump from one activity to the next.
Avia’s premium activewear features reflective accents (so you can stay visible while working out in lowlight conditions), technical fabrics that help wick moisture and comfy spandex for stretch. Everything I tried on fit true-to-size and I will definitely be heading back for more!
Take the Schwinn Sidewinder out to Hit the Road or the Trails
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve made an effort to incorporate more cross-training activities into my workouts. I love running, but my body no longer loves doing it every day. I enjoy biking as a form of cross-training because it’s easier on my joints and it’s fun to do with the whole family!
The Schwinn Sidewinder is an affordable bike option that will let you explore the trails AND cruise along the bike path or around town. It has 21-speed Shimano Revo twist shifters, so shifting is easy. It also has front and rear linear pull brakes so you can stop on a dime and feel in control while cruising downhill on the trails. The wheels feature light and strong alloy rims and every Schwinn bike comes with a limited lifetime warranty for as long as you own the bike!
Optimum Nutrition Products are a Great Way to Start Your Morning or Refuel After Workouts
A big part of getting active and fit is your diet. My husband and Iove to start the morning off with protein smoothies (they’re also great for a post-workout snack!)– they keep us full and satisfied through lunch! We’ve been using the Optimum Nutrition® Whey Protein Isolate which has 25 grams of protein per serving.
You can choose from a chocolate or vanilla flavor easy-to-mix powder that is free of artificial colors, flavors and sweeteners and gluten! It’s also banned substance tested, so if you compete in that environment you can feel confident that your protein powder is good to go!
Before workouts and on really warm days, I like to use the ON® Performance Energy which has some caffeine (about the amount in a cup of coffee) and 3 grams of muscle supporting amino acids. It’s available in grape or watermelon flavors.
When I’m having an afternoon slump and need a pick-me-up snack, I opt for the ON® Protein Cake Bites which have 20 grams of protein in each 3-cake serving. They satisfy my sweet tooth while giving me some filling protein to tide me over until dinner! Birthday cake is my favorite flavor, but you can also choose from Red Velvet, Chocolate Dipped Cherry, Chocolate Frosted Donut. 🙂
