This past weekend was beautiful on the Cape—yes, I was there AGAIN! While it was a little on the chilly side (relative to the weather we have had lately), the weather could not have been more beautiful.
On Saturday morning, I woke up at the butt crack of dawn to see my sister off on her trip back to California. Her flight was delayed on our way to the bus station, but that’s another story…
While we were back at the house enjoying a second cup of coffee, I thought it would be a great idea to take the kids to Beebe Woods for a nice little hike. There is a one mile loop that it is the perfect distance for the littles, as they get a TON of exercise, but it’s just far enough that my oldest can walk/run the whole way on his own.
On this particular visit, my four year old ran pretty much the entire one mile loop! While my husband is hoping for a scholarship for soccer, I see a budding cross country star!
By the end of the walk, my almost two year old had fallen asleep on my husband, and he didn’t even wake up when we transferred him to the car seat. Of course he woke up as soon as we reached my in-laws fifteen minutes later.
All in all, it was a gorgeous weekend. What did you do this past holiday weekend?
Sounds like a fun weekend. Awesome that the kids loving being outdoors and active. There are five shorter (3/4 to 2 miles) wooded trails in my town that we take the kids out walking on a lot. And I want to get my 6yo into jogging this summer.
I love seeing kids play outside! My cousin brought her children on Easter and they all played outside.
I spent a good amount of time outdoors too, with plenty of yardwork on Saturday and a nice 6 mile run on Sunday! Plus playing with the kids and dogs 🙂
Sounds (and looks) beautiful! I was just thinking L is old enough to go on short hikes, I need to find some around here.
I love family hikes too! Much better than a family video game. 🙂
