I can’t believe it;s already Falmouth Road Race Weekend! I am not running the race this year, but I will be cheering everyone on at the end of my street. It’s always a fun weekend here in Falmouth, but SUPER crowded. If you think traffic is bad on the Cape in the summer, it definitely reaches a peak on road race weekend!
I have run the race a number of times, and honestly, I’m just not that into running in warm, humid August weather any time other than very early in the morning! I am perfectly content to watch everyone sweat it out and then run the course in November at the Falmouth in the Fall race. It’s a BEAUTIFUL course to run, with unbeatable scenery. I can’t wait to tackle it in the crisp, fall air. 😉
On Saturday I will be interviewing Stephanie Rothstein, an elite mother runner, who will be at the race cheering on her husband (elite runner Ben Bruce) with their new baby! I am excited to have the opportunity to talk to Stephanie about her experience as an elite runner and how her running has changed through pregnancy and as a new mom.
I am also looking forward to spending time with my husband’s cousin and her family, who will be visiting from Germany. Holly will be running her first Falmouth Road Race, so we will all be cheering for her. I love getting to catch up with them and wish we got to see them more often! I guess we will just have to start planning a family trip to Germany…better start saving up! 😉
I am also working on some more updates for my home office (I will be showcasing them on the blog soon) that include an occasional table and an update for an older file cabinet. I love the color scheme I chose, and I can’t wait to share pictures when the project is complete! I am looking forward to having a nice comfortable and relaxing space to work and write–with a door!
