I am super psyched to announce that I will be a ZOOMA Cape Cod ambassador for 2015–my fourth year with this AMAZING race series. It’s been so fun to watch the race grow over the last few years, and it’s truly a one of a kind race experience. Aside from the hills, I loved everything about it! This year’s race will be held on Saturday, September 26, and registration is now open. Use code “JESSICAM15” for 10% off either distance. I’m sure the race will sell out again in 2015, so register early!
In another news, I went for a short run yesterday to test out the toe. It was actually kind of a fun run– a family run. Clarke and I took our 6 year-old along and William in the BOB. A few weeks off definitely leaves you feeling a little sluggish, but it was good to get out before the onslaught of rain we are getting now! I just did a short 1.5 miles. I’m happy to say the toe fared pretty well, just a teeny bit of discomfort today (really really teeny!). I am going to start back into training next Monday.
I had my orthotics cast on Monday, and I return to pick them up and get them fitted on November 10. I am hoping that they will help get my feet back in working order! Crossing my fingers that things will fall into place for the Philly half marathon in the end of November. I don’t think it’s going to be a PR, since I have had to take a few unexpected weeks off, but who knows? Never say never! 😉
On the home front, I have started painting our kitchen. I LOVE the way it’s looking. When I have a good chunk of it done, I will post some before and after pictures. It’s unbelievable how much different it looks already (the trim and cabinetry is going from maroon to cotton white!). The change in color is going to make the kitchen look and feel so much bigger and airier!
