I’ve been seeing my friends’ social media posts about Imagine Van Gogh, and I can’t wait to finally check it out myself! We are a family of art lovers, so this immersive experience is right up our alley. Our 3 boys all love art, and the middle one especially loves art history– so this exhibit will be especially meaningful for him.
Imagine Van Gogh at the SoWa Power Station in Boston
Imagine Van Gogh is the original immersive exhibition in Image Totale© featuring more than 200 of the Dutch artist’s paintings, and it’s making its debut in Boston on December 21, 2021 at the iconic SoWa Power Station, centrally located in the city’s popular SoWa Art + Design District.
Annabelle Mauger and Julien Baron, renowned for their work at Cathédrale d’Images in Les Bauxde-Provence, France, are the Artistic Directors behind the creation of Imagine Van Gogh. It’s a truly magnificent way of viewing the iconic art work of Vincent Van Gogh. Visitors can discover more than 200 of Van Gogh’s paintings, including his most famous works, painted between 1888 and 1890 in Provence, Arles and Auvers-sur-Oise. Multi-projection and immersive audio make this a one-of-a-kind experience.
“Original canvasses are expanded and fragmented, then projected into unusual shapes to
emphasize the mesmerizing exaggerations and distortions of Van Gogh’s work. Visitors experience
their energy, emotion, and beauty like never before.”
– Annabelle Mauger.
