A few weeks ago I received an AWESOME box of Chosen Foods to play around with in the kitchen, and I’m excited to share one of the simple recipes I came up with (using Chosen Foods avocado mayo) that will add a nice flavor boost to your favorite sandwich or burger!
Chosen Foods is a company that makes a number of very cool products including 100% oil cooking sprays, avocado oil, chia seeds and avocado mayo! I was so intrigued by the avocado mayo and couldn’t wait to test it out!
What Is Avocado Mayo?
Rather than using soybean oil, which is used in most commercial mayonnaise, the Chosen Foods mayo uses pure avocado oil, which is high in omega-9 fatty acids (also found in olives and olive oil). Other ingredients include cage-free eggs and a little honey. It was SO GOOD, and I like it just as well as regular mayonnaise, if not better!
Other Chosen Foods Products
Chosen Foods products contain a variety of different “super foods” including avocados, chia seeds and quinoa. We received a bag of chia seeds (made famous in the Born to Run book!), and I love to sprinkle them on salads or put a tablespoon in my morning smoothie. They are a great source of omega 3-fatty acids and fiber.
I love the cooking oil sprays we received too! Since a lot of us like to cook with coconut oil, you can now use it as a cooking spray! There are also cooking sprays with pure olive oil and avocado oil. The avocado oil is great for high-heat cooking (up to 500 degrees!). All of the Chosen Foods cooking oils are cold or expeller-pressed from fruits, seeds, and flowers.




Cilantro Lime Mayo
I saw this on a menu a while back, and I’m glad I had the chance to recreate it at home. It’s very simple to do: only three ingredients! Simply combine a half cup of Chosen Foods avocado mayonnaise, 1 tbsp of dried cilantro (you could use fresh too!) and one teaspoon of lime juice. Stir to combine and use it on your favorite sandwich or burger– I love it on veggie burgers!
