Last year, I was so bummed that the Cape Cod Trail race sold out days before I was about to register. This year, I made sure to sign up as soon as registration opened! Registration opened about a week and a half ago, and 1/4 of the spots are already filled! There are 400 spots total up for grabs, covering distances from 10k to 50k. You can bump down in distance if you need to before March 27, but there will be NO bumping up in distance.
The Cape Cod Trail Race will be held April 10, 2016. I love that the motto of this race is “Run Forward. Give Back.” All proceeds from the race are distributed to a variety of local charities. Last year’s recipients included Cape Lyme Awareness, Cape Wildlife Center, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Wounded Warriors, Together We Can, Jack’s Pact, and the Falmouth Bike Lab.
The race is held in the Frances A. Crane Wildlife Management Area, which I can personally attest, offers beautiful trails. There is a 10k loop that is used in all 4 races. The distances offered in the Cape Cod Trail Race are 10k, half marathon, marathon, and 50k with registration fees of $30 / with active military discount: $27, $45 / with active military discount: $40, $55 / with active military discount: $48 (both marathon and 50k), respectively.

There is a fun kids race that is FREE for children 12 and under. The race will be capped at 100 children, and it’s 0.7 miles long (will be timed). You can pre-register HERE. Participating kids will get an official bib, finisher’s medal and food! 🙂 There will also be a “Diaper Dash” for the youngest kids!
If you are interested in signing up for the Cape Cod Trail Race, I would HIGHLY suggest registering soon to secure your spot! You can register online HERE.
