I have been on a baking streak lately. Seriously, my Kitchen Aid mixer has gotten more love this past week than it has over the last year! After struggling to find affordable bread that a) tastes good and b) doesn’t contain corn syrup or other nasties I have decided to go back to baking my own bread.
Really, it’s not that hard if you have the mixer to knead for you. Yes it takes a while to wait for the dough to rise, but I figure it gives me plenty of time to get other stuff done around the house while I wait!
As of late, the other “stuff” has included about 20 loads of laundry and unpacking assorted boxes that have finally been moved out of the storage unit. Excitement people, I know you’re on the edge of your seat…
Although it may not sound thrilling, it IS making me feel better to start getting organized, especially before the holiday season sets in. This morning will bring a little more excitement—a field trip with my younger son’s preschool class to a cranberry bog.
The minivan will be getting a preview of its later life as I sandwich a few extra kids into the back seats for our trip! Hopefully my one cup of coffee (ah pregnancy!) this morning will power me through.
What are you up to today? I will live vicariously through you!
Would love to learn how to bake my own bread (do you need a bread maker?) I am disgusted by the ingredients in the store bought bread.
Congrats on your pregnancy ! Three is fun! and crazy!
