The weekends definitely go by way to fast! Clarke and I got to enjoy a nice date night and overnight without kids thanks to my in-laws! It was nice to get to sleep in until 8 in the morning!
Saturday was a day of more home improvement, in the form of refinishing the boys’ playroom floor. Since I can’t be around the polyurethane fumes, my poor hubby had to do the sanding and staining. We have the first coat on, and it looks AWESOME! I will post pics later this week after the next coat.
On Sunday, we brought back a tradition from my childhood, attending Sunday School at the First Congregational Church in town. It’s been so nice revisiting things from my own childhood with the boys, and I was anxious to see what they would think of Sunday School. They loved it! It was so nice to be back in the church I grew up in (and where we were married!)
After church, I hit the grocery store and then started baking ahead for the week. C and I had gone to the cranberry bog last week with his preschool class, and we picked 24 oz. of cranberries. I decided to do this cranberry bread recipe—it turned out pretty well.
My favorite make ahead meal for today was the breakfast sandwiches. I saw these on Facebook, and I knew I had to make them.; They are pretty much a healthier version of an Egg McMuffin. If you want to check out the recipe, HERE it is.
I made some with Canadian bacon for Clarke and the boys and then froze them for later in the week. I froze them in wax paper, so we can pop them in the microwave to reheat them. WIN! You can see some of the pics to the right. I hope this nesting feature doesn’t end any time soon!
