We kicked off summer with a long weekend to Vermont. I will be sharing more posts this week about our trip to Vermont but here’s what we did in a nutshell. After picking the boys up from their last day of school (which was thankfully a half day!) and headed north to our first stop at the Basin Harbor Club.
After spending two nights on Lake Champlain, we spent a few hours in Burlington and headed south to Waterbury and Stowe for two nights at the Sun & Ski Inn and Suites. We hiked, rock climbed, swam and enjoyed summer life in the Green Mountain State!
We returned home on Sunday to visit with my sister, brother-in-law and niece who are here from California. I love that summer is off to an AWESOME start! So I have been absent the last week from the blog, because I’ve been enjoying outdoor activities and hitting the beach! Since we’re back now, I am going to have to find some time to get some work and writing done!
I didn’t run at all in Vermont, but I did a ton of cross training in the form of swimming, hiking, walking and rock climbing. 🙂 My legs are feeling the need to get back on the roads/trails though, so hopefully I can squeeze some runs in this week before company leaves!
Although the boys are out of school now, I tried not to schedule too many things this summer I want to have a good amount of down time, and I see no problem with the kids being “bored!” 🙂 We have weekly tennis, a one week lacrosse camp and afternoon art camp on the schedule for summer, and aside from that, we will be hitting the beach, playing and relaxing!
Our next adventure will take us to the Berkshires for a few days (in mid-July), but I’m happy to be home enjoying summer life on Cape Cod right now. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous– dry, sunny and in the 70s! We definitely need some rain, but it looks light we might get some tonight…
Wheat are your plans for summer?!
