This past Sunday was the Falmouth Road Race. I decided to take a year off this year. Last year was not the best experience with racing at 10 a.m., and I am really hoping that the rumor is true: they are considering switching the race to 8 a.m.!
If they start the race earlier, I will totally be on board. Although I didn’t run, I did go to the expo on Saturday to work the ZOOMA both. I got to say hi to Bill Rodgers again—love him! I love working expo booths and getting to meet so many different runners. I talked to so many different people from all over the U.S. and even Bermuda! The ZOOMA booth was also right next to the Janji booth, which is a great company that I will be writing about in a few weeks!
On race morning, I headed to the end of my street to spectate. I was psyched that they decided to start the elite women 10 minutes earlier; so that they had some time to shine, rather than being swallowed up among the elite/sub-elite men.
Although the field wasn’t as stacked as it usually is due to the World Championships in Moscow being the same weekend, it was nice that a lot more American runners placed higher in the field!
It was actually fun to spectate for a change, although I did feel the racing bug! The elites are just so fast–incredible to watch. The lead pack of men came while I was snapping pics—I blinked and they had already turned the corner!
Did you run the Falmouth Road Race? How was it?
[…] can’t believe it;s already Falmouth Road Race Weekend! I am not running the race this year, but I will be cheering everyone on at the end of my street. […]
