Since it was cold, windy, and raining Sunday morning, I decided not to run. I think it was a good choice anyway, since my left hip flexor is still a little sore when I run. I have been laying low and not doing much running this past week.
What I have been doing is major home improvement work! I feel like I should be on a HGTV first-time, DIY, historical renovation show. I can see it already!
Since I grew up in the same old house we are living in now, I know a little about what it’s like to live in a historic home. Every time you go to do a project, you never know what you are going to find when you start pulling things up/off!
This past weekend we skim coated the walls in the boys’ room and finished all wallpaper removal. We also removed the wall paper and vanity from their bathroom. When we took off the vanity, we discovered that some sheet rock had been taken out for rewiring and just covered up with a large piece of plywood!
Guess, we will be putting some new drywall up there! It looks so much bigger with everything taken out. I chose the paint color for the bathroom (see pic). We are still deciding on the sink, toilet, lighting, etc. I am thinking of doing ceramic wood tiles for the floor.
This week is going to bring a lot more home improvement and hopefully some running too. I think with a few more days of rest, my cranky left hip flexor will be happier.
Did anyone race Hyannis this weekend??
