The boys and I headed to the Mystic Aquarium yesterday and had over 3 1/2 hours of fun! The aquarium was in the process of decorating for the holidays, and the boys enjoyed seeing all of the lights and trees.

Before entering the exhibits, we checked out the Polar Express in 4-D. I think the last time I saw something in 4-D was in Disney World two years ago. It was AWESOME!
My 4-year old was a little freaked out by the noise and 3-D—surprisingly my 2-year old kept the glasses on the whole time! I would probably recommend it for kids who are a little older, simply because of the added effects and the noise.
After the Polar Express short, we checked out the Titanic exhibit, which was also really well done. There were a lot of interactive things to do for kids and adults. What was especially cool was the way the exhibit was designed; you felt like you were underwater walking through the wreckage.
Before the 1:30 sea lion show, we headed to the Ray exhibit, so we could all touch the cow-nosed rays. The boys had a chance to do this before at the Ocean Explorium in New Bedford, and they couldn’t get enough. The rays are so graceful as they fly through the water and it’s fun to feel them glide over your hands.
Next up was the sea lion show. We all got a kick out of these fun-loving sea mammals. They are so smart and clearly loved performing. Not only was it entertaining, but we also learned some interesting facts about sea lions.
Before leaving, we said hi to the beluga whales, who were busy eating their dinner and working with their trainers. The boys and I had such a wonderful afternoon at the Mystic Aquarium, and the employees and volunteers there could not have been nicer. We will definitely be heading back there soon!
Mystic Aquarium will be having their Winter Wonderlandcelebration on Saturdays and Sundays in December and Thursday, Dec. 27 – Tuesday, Jan. 1. The celebration will include a scuba diving Santa, music, crafts, and much more!

I was provided with free passes to Mystic Aquarium. There was no obligation to write about our experience there: we just LOVED it!
Awww, I love that aquarium. Your little man looks so cute! We had a family pass there when my kids were toddlers and it was our favorite place to go 2-3 times a week. They are so family friendly there. The belugas were my favorite! Glad you had a great time!
We checked out the Titanic exhibit right after it opened – Dante is our resident Titanic/shipwreck buff – and loved it! Glad you had fun!
It was so cool! It will be fun when the kids get a bit older and are into that–since I grew up in Falmouth, we got to see a presentation by Dr. Ballard on Alvin and all of the cool stuff about the Titanic. 🙂
Aww, sounds like so much fun! I’m excited to do more holiday themed events with L this year.
