I love chocolate and other treats, but this Valentine´s Day I decided to buy a running present for myself! I have resigned myself to the fact that there will undoubtedly be some very cold outside running days ahead.
I have a couple of pairs of fleece pants that I am not super psyched about running in, so I splurged another pair of running-specific pants. I love my Hard Mountain Gear pants, but one favorite pair of pants is not going to be enough for winter running.
Of course, Running Warehouse had to go and run a Valentine’s Day sale. I am such a sucker for running gear sales! Anyhow, I picked out a pair of the Brooks Vapor Dry 2 running pants.
I think they look cute, in addition to being warm and functional. I also like the zippered back pocket for stashing keys or GU. I also got an Amphipod 12 oz. handheld for shorter distance runs.
My husband clearly knows me too well. My first stop every morning is the coffee maker for my freshly brewed coffee (I program it every night!).
Next to the coffee maker was a pound of Dunkin’ Donuts French Vanilla coffee and a DD’s mug with a Rhode Island scene on it. Made me a little nostalgic for the Ocean State!
Running/training related: We got a few inches of snow on Wednesday night, but I was DETERMINED to get outside to run. Luckily the sun was shining and it was warm enough to melt the snow of the road surfaces and the bike path.
I did a 6-miler along the beach and then on the bike path to Woods Hole and back. It was all clear except for the tail end, when I felt like I was on a trail. I had to run in the snow and duck under a large tree that had fallen across the path during the blizzard!
What a great feeling to be running outside again. I am also super psyched that my sister arrived from California Wednesday night for a week! It’s going to be a great weekend!
I saw a girl running this morning in a t-shirt. I couldn’t believe it! It’s one thing to run outside in winter (one thing I can’t do) it’s another not to buddle up!
I know! I usually do a tech t-shirt topped with a half-zip and I’m good to go. 🙂
