Last night we rode on the Polar Express via the Cape Cod Rail in Hyannis. What a wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, the night was truly magical for both of the boys. They were greeted by the conductor and welcomed to board the train.
Shortly after we were seated on the beautifully decorated train, we took off on our voyage to the North Pole. They boys really enjoyed getting their tickets punched—with each child having his/her name punched into their ticket. James was very impressed!
Hot chocolate and cookies were served while the “Hot Chocolate Song” was played. Shortly thereafter, the kids got to listen to the Polar Express story. The chefs walked up and down the aisles showing the children the pictures from the book as the story was told.

At the half way point in the trip, we reached the North Pole and picked up the elves and Santa! The excitement in the children’s faces was contagious as Santa prepared to board the train!
Elves guided the children in Christmas carols as Santa walked through the train and talked with each child. Everyone got to spend a few minutes with Santa and pose for pictures. This Santa was GREAT!
He was so sweet and really connected with each child. Before he left, he presented each child with an official jingle bell along with the name of the reindeer it came from. James and Collin were both thrilled!
We were sad when we reached the end of our ride. I cannot say enough about how fantastic everyone was who worked on the train from the chefs/elves to the hobo! They really could not have been nicer. It was a class act and well worth it—we plan on going next year.

If you are looking for a fun thing to do with the kids this holiday season, I would DEFINITELY recommend checking it out. You can find more information HERE.
So glad you had fun!!!
We are going on this tomorrow in Squamish, BC (just outside of Whistler) We watched the movie last night and now my oldest is a bit scared! I’m sure they’ll love it when we get there though. I can’t wait!
