Deely617, check your email (sent last Wednesday)! You won the Allstate Life Insurance Boston 13.1 Marathon! I need to hear from you by Wednesday, or I have to pick someone else. Last Friday I had the opportunity to travel up to the BJ’s Wholesale Club in Hudson to learn some more about the store, what they offer, and what sets them apart from other club stores. We started off with a tour of the store, including all of their back to school offerings. One thing I noticed right away is the very cool selection of dorm gear they have this year. They have a ton of stuff in the Pantone color of the year—emerald—including some very cute retro dorm fridges, microwaves, etc. Who knew BJ’s was the place to go for trendy dorm furnishings?

One of the things I loved finding was the cool lunch box storage options. Since my five-year old will be headed to kindergarten this year, we will be packing lunch every day! I would like to do some fun, healthy (non-PB&J) lunches, so the different shaped storage containers complete with attachable ice packs were great! For some inspirational school lunch ideas, check out 100 Days of Real Food’s roundup.
BJ’s also has a great selection of notebooks, pencils, Crayola supplies, lunch boxes, backpacks, and much more! One of the other things that surprised me about BJ’s was how many different organic products that they carry.
There are about four farms in each of the club’s home states that are selected to provide produce. If you would like to check out the people behind these local farms, check out their board on Pinterest. All in all, I had a great time touring the club and getting some great back-to-school lunch ideas. In fact, I am actually headed to our local BJ’s this afternoon to stock up on some back to school snacks, organic milk, Pete & Gerry’s eggs, and a boat load of other stuff!
