First things first–I passed the 3 hour glucose challenge. I am very thankful for the nice phlebotomist at the lab. She made a potential unpleasant experience much more pleasant. When I arrived at the lab at 6 am, she led me to a smaller semi-private waiting room with a recliner. She proceeded to inform me that I could take a nap and she would wake me for the hourly blood draws–she even brought me a blanket and turned out the lights. As any mom can attest, a few hours of solitude and the potential to nap are priceless!
After the test, I headed to IHOP for an omelet. I thought I would be ravenous, but I actually wasn’t hungry at all. They told me to eat something with a good deal of protein to help mediate the huge glucose surge. It seemed to work. I had my midwife appointment shortly after, and I am measuring right on track. She thinks the baby has turned down–something I had suspected last week when I started feeling more pelvic pressure.
In other news, I seriously feel geriatric when I get up from the seated position any more. I have to stabilize and then prepare for the pelvic discomfort as I start to walk—good times! Other than that and last week’s bout with the stomach virus, things are very good. I have no complaints. I still can’t believe that in two months or less I will have another baby- CRAZY!
The boys are so cute about the impending arrival. My five and a half year-old told my husband the other day that he was so excited to meet the new baby–he just wished it could come now (great idea kid, but I’d like to keep it in there for another month and half!) 😉 I am surprised that it’s my three and a half year-old who has been really into the baby thing on a daily basis. At least three times a day, he will come over and ask to give the baby a kiss and a hug. It melts my heart every time!
The nursery prep is in full swing, and it will be painted by next weekend. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. I have also started to shop for a few little things that I needed to replace after two kids, namely another Boppy and a few more side snap shirts. We replaced the bouncer, but other than that we are pretty much good to go. I have to pull the crib and co-sleeper out of our garage and get them cleaned up after the room is ready. Almost there!
I love this. Your boys are so adorable and sweet and will be such big helpers when the baby arrives. Wishing you lots of joy in these last few weeks before the happy arrival… and lots of easy-ups and easy walking, too! Thanks for sharing this wonderful journey!
Thanks Sharon! 🙂 It’s so hard to believe that the new little one will be here so soon! Love seeing all the pics of baby Brian–ADORABLE! xoxo
You are an inspiration! 🙂
Thanks Melissa! xoxo
The boys are so cute!!!
Aww, thanks Nancy! 🙂
Wow, Jessica!! I always said it was a lot easier while they were on the “inside.” Soon you will for sure have your hands full!! But a new baby is always such an exciting time. Sweet yet exhausting at the same time. Don’t you wish it was possible to store up sleep?
The very best to you. I’ll have to prepare to get knitting once that baby is born! Can’t wait!!
Diane
